Witty or creative titles are welcome, but only if relevant and within measure. Abbreviations should be avoided within the title. The title should be concise, omitting terms that are implicit and, where possible, be a statement of the main result or conclusion presented in the manuscript. I've tried the A5 ones as well, but they're too small for my taste. I can also recommend these for plain music notation paper: Where names are given to instruments perhaps the text could be layed out vertically to get some more horizontal space, but I'll have to see if musescore can do that. Perc can probablybe left untouched as well.Īll of this should yield more vertical space. Piano/Harp/Keys can be merged into one pair of 1x treble and 1x bass (I already did that in the latest version, but I realized the prints I have still have them as seperate) For woodwinds, reduce to 4x treble and 2x bass and remove the names as well. Remove the names from the brass staves and have 3x treble and 3x bass clef (since horns can also be notated in bass clef) The musescore project file may still be useful as a starting point for people who want to print their own paper, but I would recommend losing a few staves in hindsight. It has in my experience turned out to be too cramped to be comfortable to work with. Old topic but I must say that some of the comments here are really valid. As of yet this is untested in terms of the size and spacing of the lines (unsure if the lines will be far apart enough, though I think it'll be acceptable). All measures are now equally spaced and a bit more margins were sacrificed to give each staff a smidge more vertical space.ĮDIT: I've ordered a bunch of these to be printed on A3s. It's pretty intuitive really EDIT/UPDATE: I've updated the musescore project, pdf, and image preview to use a slightly improved version. The bass clarinet can be put on the lower clarinet staff, and the contrabassoon can be put on the lower bassoon staff. Similarly, the cor anglais could be put on the lower oboe staff. I recommend checking it out!įor missing instruments such as piccolo, bass clarinet, contrabassoon, bass trombone, etc, the idea is that you can strike-through the printed text and (for example) assign the top flute staff to piccolo and use the bottom one for concert flutes. For those of you that don't know, Musescore is a great, free notation editor with plenty of capability. ![]() For ultimate flexibility I've provided the Musescore project file so you can tweak this template however you like. ![]() I've attached an image so you can see what the sheet looks like before downloading. It's based of some, ahem, photoscans of JW sketches. Hey all, I made this A3-sized printable empty scorepad. ![]()
